Next August 12, 2026 will mark one of the most extraordinary astronomical events visible from Catalonia in the 21st century: the total solar eclipse.
From Port de Torredembarra, we invite you to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience in a truly special way: from your own boat, sailing as part of a large, coordinated flotilla at sea.
The event, organized by Sea Starlight in collaboration with Port de Torredembarra, will allow participants to enjoy the eclipse in an exceptional setting, accompanied by an astronomy guide who will provide a live broadcast of the phenomenon’s progression via a VHF channel shared by all participating vessels.

Throughout the activity, an astronomy instructor aboard the lead boat will provide live commentary:

- Recommendations for safe observation.
Announcements will be made over the VHF channel designated for the entire fleet.
Return Under the Stars
After the eclipse, we’ll begin our return to the port, coinciding with another major event on the astronomical calendar: the peak of the Perseids, popularly known as the Tears of Saint Lawrence.
Those who wish to do so may return directly to the port, while those who prefer to wait until nightfall may remain at sea to enjoy the Perseid meteor shower.
During the night cruise, we’ll be able to enjoy:
- Meteor watching.
- Identifying constellations.
- Explanations of celestial navigation.
- A unique experience at sea under one of the most special skies of the year.
